WALKING WARM-UP DRILLS
Leg Kick Drill
 
Purpose:
Improve hamstring and hip flexibility
Steps:
  1. Hold your arms together in front of your body
  2. Hold hands together in front of your chest.
  3. Swing arms from left to right while walking with correct technique.
  4. Lift knee high in the air with a quick motion allowing your kicking knee to cross over the other knee
  5. Kick with other knee after four steps.
  6. Walk with normal race walking technique in between kicks.
  7. Perform this exercise for 30 yards.

Please consult your doctor before trying any of these stretches.
Beginner walkers may find them too stressful.
